Ukraine Reveals Details About Eurovision 2021 Selection Process

The Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC has decided that the band Go_A will represent the country at Eurovision 2021. The band had won “Vidbir 2020” – The national final of Ukraine for Eurovision 2020.

The band performed the song “Solovey” and won both the jury voting and the public voting.

Kateryna Pavlenko (the lead singer) was interviewed this week and revealed that the band will present 5 potential songs for the public. One of them will be the Ukrainian song for Eurovision 2021. In other words, Ukraine will hold a national selection with the same format as Israel and Romania had for Eurovision 2020 or as Finland had for Eurovision 2018 and 2019.

It is still unknown whether “Vidbir” will be the format and the name of Eurovision 2021 national selection. Moreover, the broadcaster haven’t decided yet if jury will be involved in voting.

The band has 4 members: Kateryna Pavlenko, Ihor Didenchuk, Taras Shevchenko and Ivan Hryhoriak. The main genres of the band are electro folk and pop rock.

Doron Lahav is 30-year-old, who lives in Israel. Doron has been watching the Eurovision Song Contest since early 2000s. Doron works as a Data Scientist and shows interest in singing and writing.
