Sweden: “Melodifestivalen 2021” Full Results Were Published

Earlier today, the Swedish broadcaster revealed the full results of “Melodifestivalen 2021“

Important note: The results are being calculated as an arithmatic mean between 7 different ages groups: 3-9, 10-15, 16-29, 30-44, 45-59, 60-74, 75+ and televoters category.
Therefore, it is possible that one artist will receive more votes than the other. and will still be below another artist on the table.

Semi Final 1

1. Danny Saucedo – Dandi Dansa (78 points: 1,377,663 votes)
2. Arvingarna – Tänker Inte Alls Gå Hem (72 ponts: 1,190,449 votes)
3. Paul Rey – The Missing Piece (68 points: 1 239,146 votes)

Statistics Insights

Suppose we have the previous system of voting (where the voters aren’t split into age groups), the following things would have changed:

• Paul Rey would have qualified direct to the final, while Arvingarna would have faced a “second chance round”
• Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos have gotten the majority of support from older voters (60-74, 75+) and telephone voters.
• Patrik Jean would have had a chance to qualify from “Andra chansen“, while Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos would have been eliminated.
• Alvaro Estrella would have qualified direct to the final, while Charlotte Perrelli would have faced a “second chance round”
• Tusse got the highest amount of votes (1.9 million) in the entire semi-finals.
• Semi-final 4 results would have remained the same in previous voting method.
• “Andra Chansen‘s results would have remained the same in previous voting method.
• According to the previous method, Eric Saade should have received more public points than Clara Klingenström (Grand Final)
• Arvingarna should have ended last in public vote (Grand Final)
• Charlotte Perrelli should have been ranked 10th in the public vote, instead of 8th.
