Australian broadcaster SBS has announced the opening of the submission window for Eurovision 2022.
As in 2019 and 2020, Australia will choose the song and the artist for Eurovision via a national selection “Australia Decides Gold Coast 2022″.
Participants will be chosen among the submissions.
Songwriters, composers, singers and producers are invited to send their songs via SBS website.
The deadline is 26th of September 2021. The song portal, supported by APRA AMCOS, represents over 100,000 Australasian songwriters, composers and music publishers.
SBS welcomes both known and unknown songwriters, composers and singers to submit songs. There is no limit on the number of songs each person can submit.
SBS is open minded regarding different music genres.
“Australia Decides Gold Coast 2022” will be held on Saturday the 26th of February 2022.
The jury show will be held on the day before.
The show will be hosted once again by Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst.
10 artists will participate in the national selection. The results will be determined by 50% public voting and 50% jury voting. The chosen artists will be revealed at the beginning of 2022.
Marshall Heald, SBS Director of Television and Online Content, said::
“Australia is home to so many talented artists and songwriters, and SBS is proud to provide this international platform for our nation’s incredibly diverse music community. It’s over to you Australia – let’s give Europe our best!”
Who will carry the Australian flag in Italy? Will we see any returning artists in the selection show? Will Dami Im (Australia, Eurovision 2016) compete in the national selection as she wished in the past?
