Portuguese broadcaster RTP has opened submissions line to everyone who is interested to participate at Festival da Canção 56 to select Portuguese entry at Eurovision 2022.
The Festival da Canção organisers are announced that they are selecting 4 contestants from public submitted entries. Remaining 16 songwriters and musicians will be invited by RTP.
Festival will be held in February and March 2022 and it will consist of 2 Semi Finals and Grand Final. All together will have 20 songs each semi final will have 10 songs, 5 qualifying songs from each semi will be in Grand Final.
Some rules for submitting songs are:
-Songs must be in demo version or final version and must be sent until 31st October 2021.
-Songwriters/musicians sent in work must consist of a voice and instrument or can be voice with several instruments.
-Author or competitor wants to send in more than 1 song RTP will choose the best one.
-Final versions of the songs, must be submitted until 30th November 2021 and must consist of full version (playback with music),karaoke version and instrumental version.
-Songs must have maximum duration of 3 minutes and can’t not be published before publicly.
-Lyrics may not contain political or religious messages.
–RTP will provide the music producer if the author/competitor can’t produce the song

The Black Mamba won Festival da Canção 55 with song ”Love is On My Side” and represented Portugal at Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
Currently we got 29 countries confirmed in Eurovision 2022 and these are:

Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is set take place in May but the dates has not been announced yet.
