Romanian National broadcaster TVR has announced that the national selection ”Selectia Nationala” will be used once again after a 1-year absence where Roxen was internally selected to represent Romania at Eurovision 2021 with the song ”Amnesia”.

Submissions will be open from 26th November 2021 and the deadline will be accepted until the 10th of December. Full rules and details are going to be announced in the coming days.

Iuliana Marciuc who is project manager for ”Selectia Nationala” 2022

“I am glad that I will live, again, the emotions of the Eurovision competition and I hope that the return to the national selection system will be auspicious. Any competition attracts performance and offers a chance to every artist who wants to represent their country on the stage of the biggest music competition in the world”

Star of TVR added:

“For me it is a great challenge, I have the experience of several national teams, I had the honor to be the head of the Romanian delegation and I strongly believe in our ability, of the TVR team, to obtain a new qualification in the Eurovision final”

The last time ”Selectia Nationala” was used was in 2020 when Roxen was internally chosen artist and the public and jury was in the quest to find a winner between 5 songs and ”Alcohol You” was chosen and meant to represent Romania at Eurovision 2020.

Who will represent Romania at Eurovision 2022? Will the country qualify for the final for the first time since 2017?
