SVT confirmed: Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi will host “Melodifestivalen 2023“.
As always, “Melodifestivalen” will be used as a mechanism to select an artist and a song for Sweden at Eurovision.
The 34 year old TV presenter is well known to Swedish viewers.
She has hosted different radio and TV shows since 2012.
During the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Abadi was a reporter for a Swedish preview show called Studio Eurovision.
In 2022, she co-hosted “Melodifestivalen 2022″, alongside the main host Oscar Zia.
Her main role was following the artists along the course of the event.
Farah Abadi said:
“It feels so incredibly fun to be a part of the Melody Festival again. And to think that I get funny, sharp and wonderful Jesper Rönndahl by my side – what an honor”
Jesper Rönndahl is a 43 year old TV presenter, comedian and radio personality.
He began his standup career back in 2006.
In 2010, he won the award for best newcomer at the Swedish Stand-up Awards.
From 2018-2019, he was the presenter of the satirical program “Svenska nyheter”
Jesper Rönndahl reacted:
This is the biggest TV program I’ve ever done and it’s of course exciting. I don’t exactly distinguish myself as a music guy, so my role is probably more to keep track of everything – and to have fun. In any case, it feels extremely safe, happy and fun to have Farah by my side
