Montenegro won’t participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2023

Official: After multiple rumors across social media, Montenegro’s broadcaster RTCG has announced that they will not participate in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

Montenegro has withdrawn from competing in the Eurovision Song Contest, and broadcaster RTCG cited the costs of participating in the competition. In a statement they released, and they stated:

“In addition to the significant costs of the registration fee, as well as the cost of staying in Great Britain – we also faced a lack of interest from sponsors, so we decided to direct existing resources to the financing of current and planned national projects and organizational and program reforms, which entail significant investment interventions in equipment and premises”

In previous years the nation previously withdrew from the contest on two occasions. They withdrew from the competition between 2010 and 2011 and from 2020 to 2021.

Vladana represented Montenegro at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song ”Breathe’‘.

She came in 17th place with 33 points in Semi-Final 2.

We hope to see Montengeo returning to the contest in the near future!
