Romania: 12 Finalists for “Selecţia Naţională 2023” Have Been Revealed

It’s been revealed by Romanian broadcaster TVR that 12 finalists will try to represent Romania at Eurovision Song Contest 2023. This year Romanian broadcaster have received 85 songs from the submissions.

A mix of artists from Romania and abroad selected a shortlist of 12 hopefuls.
The jury consisted of:

  • Sebastien Ferenţ (Festival Director)
  • Laura Coroianu (Founder of a concern organization company)
  • Bogdan Stratula (Radio/TV Director)
  • John Varbiu (Festival Founder)
  • Alin Vaida (Festival Director)
  • Mihai Predescu (Head of Delegation)
  • Unannounced* (Project Director)

12 Hopefuls are:

Adriana Moraru – “Faralaes”

Aledaida – “Bla Bla Bla”

AMIA – “Puppet”

Andrada Popa – “No time for me”

Andreea D Folclor Orchestra – “Periniţa mea”

Deiona – “Call on me”

Erin Dăneţ – “Bad&cool”

Maryliss – “Hai Vino”

Ocean Drive – “Take you home”

No Artist – “Statues”

Steven Roho x Gabriella x Formaţia Albatros – “Lele”

Theodor Andrei – “D.G.T. (Off and on)”

Selecţia Naţională 2023 will take place on the 11th of February 2023 in the TVR studios. The result will be decided through a 100% public vote.

WRS represented Romania at Eurovision 2022 with the song  “Llámame”.
He finished in 18th place in the final.
