Sweden: “Melodifestivalen 2023” Heat 1 Results

Wave your colorful balloons high up in the air as SVT officially kicks off the 2023 season of the most expected national final “Melodifestivalen 2023

On the mission of hosting the whole season will be Farah Abadi and Jesper Rönndahl

The first heat of the show aired live from Scandinavium, Gothenburg, where the first group of 7 acts performed their entries for the first time:

  1. Tone Sekelius – Rhythm Of My Show
  2. Loulou LaMotte – Inga Sorger
  3. Rejhan – Haunted
  4. Elov & Beny – Raggen Går
  5. Victor Crone – Diamonds
  6. Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos – Länge Leve Livet
  7. Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Arc North feat. Adam Woods – Where You Are (Sávečan)

Round 1

Based on the public vote, Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Arc North feat. Adam Woods ended in the first place and therefore qualified for the final!

Round 2

Public votes, aggregated by different age groups, revealed:

Therefore, the qualifiers for the final are:

  2. Tone Sekelius – Rhythm Of My Show

2 acts will try their luck in the semi-final:

  1. Victor Crone – Diamonds
  2. Elov & Beny – Raggen Går

and 3 artists are eliminated:

  1. Rejhan – Haunted
  2. Loulou LaMotte – Inga Sorger
  3. Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos – Länge Leve Livet

Next week the second group will continue the battle for another two tickets for the grand final in Friends Arena. Performing next week are

  3. Uje Brandelius – Grytan
  4. Panetoz  On My Way
  5. Tennessee Tears  Now I Know
  6. Maria Sur  Never Give Up

Melodifestivalen 2023 Calendar

  • Heat1 : 4 February 2023 (Scandinavium, Gothenburg)
  • Heat2: 11 February 2023 (Saab Arena, Linköping)
  • Heat3: 18 February 2023 (Sparbanken Lidköping Arena, Lidköping)
  • Heat4: 25 February 2023 (Malmö Arena, Malmö)
  • Semi-final: 4 March 2023 (Hägglunds Arena, Örnsköldsvik)
  • Final: 11 March 2023 (Friends Arena, Stockholm)

Melodifestivalen 2023 grand final will take place on Saturday 11 March 2023 at Stockholm’s Friends Arena. This will also be the date where the date when the Swedish artist and song for Liverpool will be known to all.

Last year it was Cornelia Jakobs who sang the powerful pop ballad “Hold Me Closer” for Sweden and pierced the scoreboard with 438 points to take her higher up to grand final 4th place.

Sweden will compete in the second half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2023.
