Israel: “Unicorn” by Noa Kirel Will Be Released On March 8th

Israeli broadcaster KAN has revealed further details of Israel’s participation at Eurovision 2023.
As you all know, last summer the 21 year old pop singer Noa Kirel was internally selected to represent Israel at Eurovision 2023

The song “Unicorn” will be released on Wednesday, the 8th of March 2023.
This isn’t a coincidence that it will happen on International Women’s Day.
The song premiers will be part of a special show on KAN11, with special guests included (some of them are Eurovision related).

After debating between the 3 songs, Noa Kirel, her team and the national broadcaster came to the conclusion: Noa Kirel will perform the song “Unicorn“! 🦄

The song will talk about women’s empowerment. One of the other songs that was considered to be chosen talks about love.
The song “Unicorn” will be up-tempo, with the majority of lyrics in English. However, you will be able to hear some words in Hebrew as well.
The song will feature some oriental elements.
Noa has also stated that it will be different from all of her previous songs. Might it be a new genre or different vocal abilities?

Noa commented:

“I am very excited. The selection is the first significant step that marks Eurovision in May. We wrote a song that moves me personally every time I sing or hear it, and I can’t wait for you to hear it”

The song writers are:

  • Noa Kirel
  • Doron Medalie (who wrote Israeli entries for Eurovision 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020)
  • DJ Yinon Yahel
  • May Spadia (who wrote the song “Zaza” in the Israeli selection for Eurovision 2022)

The song will be released at the beginning of March 2023.
Currently, Noa and her team are working on the video clip as well as the live performance concept.

Israel will compete in the second half of semi-final 1 at Eurovision 2023.
