Melodifestivalen 2023: Loreen and Smash Into Pieces To The Grand Final

Sweden continues the journey to Eurovision 2023 with the Forth and last heat of Melodiffestivalen 2023 broadcast tonight live from the Malmö Arena, Malmö.

Farah Abadi and Jesper Rönndahl the hosts of Melfest 2023 introduced the last group of 7 to perform their acts in this running order:

  1. Kiana Blanckert – Where Did You Go? 
  2. Signe & Hjördis – Edelweiss 
  3. Smash Into Pieces – Six Feet Under
  4. Mariette – One Day
  5. Emil Henrohn – Mera Mera Mera
  6. Axel Schylström – Gorgeous
  7. Loreen – Tattoo

Results:

Round 1

After the first count of votes, and despite her performance was interrupted by an activist decided that this it the right moment to declare his “statements”, Loreen was announced as the first act confirmed for a spot in the grand final

Round 2

Moving on to reveal how the public have voted for the remaining six entries. At the end of the second voting round we can now reveal that Smash Into Pieces gets the second ticket to the grand final.

Both Loreen and Smash Into Pieces will join these 6 acts already confirmed a spot in the final:

  • Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Arc North feat. Adam Woods – Where You Are (Sávečan)
  • Tone Sekelius – Rhythm Of My Show
  • Maria Sur  Never Give Up
  • Panetoz  On My Way
  • Paul Ray – Royals
  • Marcus & Martinus – Air

Besides the finalists, Mariette and Kiana that finished spots 3 and 4, will battle on next weeks semi finals where the last Four tickets for the grand final are up for grabs. Now we also have the full lineup for the semi-final and it is as follows:

  3. Victor Crone – Diamonds
  4. Tennessee Tears  Now I Know
  5. Elov & Beny – Raggen Går
  6. Melanie Wehbe – For The Show

Melodifestivalen 2023 Calendar

  • Heat1 : 4 February 2023 (Scandinavium, Gothenburg)
  • Heat2: 11 February 2023 (Saab Arena, Linköping)
  • Heat3: 18 February 2023 (Sparbanken Lidköping Arena, Lidköping)
  • Heat4: 25 February 2023 (Malmö Arena, Malmö)
  • Semi-final: 4 March 2023 (Hägglunds Arena, Örnsköldsvik)
  • Final: 11 March 2023 (Friends Arena, Stockholm)

The “Melodifestivalen 2023” grand final will take place on Saturday 11th of March 2023 at Stockholm’s Friends Arena. This will also be the date where the date when the Swedish artist and song for Liverpool will be known to all.

Sweden will compete in the second half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2023.
Last year it was Cornelia Jakobs who sang the powerful pop ballad “Hold Me Closer” for Sweden and pierced the scoreboard with 438 points to take her higher up to grand final 4th place.
