Following the massive success of Käärijä this year in Liverpool, Finland just cant get enough and directing the current hype to find the right candidates for Eurovision2024.
With that being said, the Finish broadcaster YLE has confirmed that the successful national final “Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK)” will return for another season. The more exciting news are that you don’t need to wait until September to file your song. this year, the application period open to everyone on 21. –24.8.2023. through a form that will be published on https://yle.fi/umk
The official dates of “UMK 2023” haven’t revealed yet. However, follow the last years, we can guess it will take place on February 2024.
In 2023, Käärijä and his “Cha Cha Cha” represented Finland and won the televoting. Overall the song came in 2nd place combined with the jury votes collecting 526 points
