Will Raiven Represent Slovenia at Eurovision 2024?

Slovenian broadcaster RTV SLO has confirmed the country will take part at Eurovision 2024.

RTV SLO will provide additional details regarding the selection process in October 2023.

However, several sources (including some of our sources) claim the the national broadcaster has already decided.
The option will probably once again be an internal selection, with the name of Raiven as the candidate to raise the Slovenian flag at Eurovision 2024.

Raiven has collaborated several times with national broadcaster RTV SLO: from participating in “EMA” (Slovenian selection for Eurovision), participating and hosting “Popevka”, singing in the European Youth Olympic Festival

What makes us suspect that she is the artist for Eurovisios 2024 is also the release date of her upcoming EP – “Sirene” will be released on Saturday, the 17th of February 2024.
It can be a perfect date to reveal her Eurovision entry on RTV SLO

About Raiven

Sara Briški Cirman (better known as Raiven) is a 25 year old Slovenian singer, songwriter and harpist. Raiven grew up in a family that raises falcones (there you can regularly find birds in her artwork). At the age of 4, she entered Glasbena matica  and started her studies in harp playing.
After finishing lower and upper school, she attended Maribor Conservatory of Musicת where she specialised in harp, jazz singing and solo singing.
In 2015, she attended Ljubljana’s Academy of Music, where she studied opera solo singing. In 2018, she graduated after she had won several awards in classical music.
In 2014, she released her first single, “Jadra” (Eng: Sails), while her second single  “Bežim” (Eng: I’m Running), was released in 2015.

In 2016, she competed in “EMA 2016”, “EMA 2017” and “EMA 2019” (the Slovenian selection show for Eurovision).
She ended up as the runner up twice (2016 and 2019) and once in 3rd place:

In 2017, she released her debut album “Magenta”.

In 2018, she was one of the hosts of “EMA 2018”.

In June 2021, she graduated with a master’s degree in Opara singing.
In 2021, she won the local pop festival “Popevka” with her song

On 9th of September 2023, she released the spececutlar duet “Ikona” (eng Icon) with the established singer Helena Blagne

The song hits waves in Slovenia, making Raiven one of the leading names in the local industry

Slovenia at Eurovision

Over the years, Slovenia mostly selected via their national selection “EMA”.
However, on several occasions, the country has selected internally, like in 2013, 2021 and 2023.
In 2022, Slovenia ended last in semi-final 1, after selecting the band LPS via “EMA 2022″.
That has been one of the triggers to make Slovenia select internally for 2023.

Based on our sources, we believe Slovenia will select the Eurovision 2024 act interanlly, but everthing is possible.

Joker Out represented Slovenia at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Carpe Diem“.
They ended in 21st place in the final, with a total of 78 points:
