Today it was revealed Portuguese entry for Junior Eurovision 2023.
Júlia Machado is 12 years old and she is from New Jersey, United States but every summer she loves to visit her family in Portugal. She recently won the Portuguese version of ”The Voice Kids”.
She will perform “Where I Belong” as her JESC 2023 entry:

”Where I Belong” is written by Fernando Daniel, João Direitinho, Aurora Pinto and Twins. Fernando Daniel and Twins have a previous been involved in Eurovision related songs for example Twins were one of the songwriters of “Ai Coração” which represented Portugal in Eurovision 2023 while Fernando Daniel worked on Portugese entry at Junior Eurovision 2021.
Portuguese entry ”Where I Belong” is about Júlia Machado’s bullying experience and Júlia seeing Portugal as ”an opportunity” away from the United States.
Nicolas Alves represented Portugal at Junior Eurovision 2022 with the song ”Anos 70”.He finished in 8th place with 121 points.

Junior Eurovision 2023 will take place in Nice, France on 26th November 2023.
16 countries will take part in the contest: France, Germany, Spain, the UK, Italy, Albania, North Macedonia, Estonia, Georgia, Poland, The Netherlands, Malta, Ukraine, Ireland, Portugal, and Armenia.
