The submission window for “Supernova 2024″ closed at midnight.
Latvian broadcaster LTV revealed that a total of 108 songs of wide music range were submitted to the selection process.
A professional committee will listen to the submitted songs and shortlist some of them to participate in the national selection for Eurovision 2024.
The list of participants will be revealed in January, while “Supernova 2024″ will be held in February 2024

The professional committee will be composed of Latvian experts from the music and TV industry, with international experts.
The jury will evaluate the songs based on originality, arrangement, message and relevance to modern market trends, vocal abilities, previous achievements in the music industry and potential for future success.
Agnese Å trause-Kubliņa, editorial director of LTV’s children, youth and entertainment programs, commented:

We have received 108 unique and personal compositions in a wide variety of musical genres, which proves that music is a universal language that unites us all. The response of musicians to participation in the competition and the annual active involvement of the audience in voting proves how important it is for each of us that Latvia is represented in honor In the Eurovision song contest, which is watched by millions of viewers around the world, the song sounds bright and convincing on the biggest stage in Europe
Sudden Lights represented Latvia at Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song ”Aija”. They came in 11th place with 34 points in the 1st semi-final.
