Germany Announces Additional Path for Eurovision 2024: “Ich will zum ESC”

Germany will select an artist and a song for Eurovision 2024 via “Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024” . The show will be held on the 16th of February 2024.

Previously, we have reported that 32 artists remained in the race to represent Germany at Eurovision 2024. Some of them will be shortlisted to participate in the national final.

However, Eurovision.de reported today that the national broadcaster will run an additional path for Eurovision 2024: “Ich will zum ESC” (Eng: I wanted to go to the ESC)

Among the 693 artists who have submitted for the German selection, 15 have been selected to take part in the unique program.
The mentors will be Conchita Wurst (Austria, Eurovision 2014) and Rea Garvey (Irish singer-songwriter, and guitarist who lives in Germany).

Here are the main details:

The following 15 artists will take part in the selection:
- Anne (27 years old, Hamburg)
- Apolloson (22 years old, Regensburg)
- Béranger (32 years old, Berlin)
- Bibiane (26 years old, Berlin)
- Celina (22 years old, Bonn)
- Christos (Mindelheim, origianlly from Greece)
- Esther (57 years old. Delmenhorst)
- Florian (28 years old, Künzelsau)
- Jamina (19 years old, Hamburg)
- Luca (23 years old, Berlin)
- Lyn (38 years old, Günzburg)
- Marie (23 years old, Muchich)
- Paul (26 years old, Leipzig)
- Sophie (32 years old, Berlin)
- Sven (34 years old, Essen)
The first 4 episodes will be available to watch between 27th and the 30th of January 2024
The 5th episode will air on February 1st.
4 artists will be chosen to advance for the next round, where 2 mentors will work with the candidates on potential Eurovision entries. This includes improvements to the profuction and so on
The 6th episode will be broadcast live on the 8th of February 2024. 2 finalists will perform their Eurovision songs live, and one of them will get a spot in the German final for Eurovision 2024.

The job as a coach is nothing new for me, but this time it is a particularly exciting challenge. I am very excited to see whether the winner will come from my team. And who knows – maybe we will see each other again in Berlin or even Malmö again

Lord of The Lost represented Germany at Eurovision 2023 with “Blood & Glitter“.
They ended last (26th) in the final, with a total of 18 points:
