Earlier this week, the EBU released a list of participating countries at Eurovision 2024.
At the moment, 37 countries have guaranteed their participation at Eurovision 2024

Unfortunately, Romania wasn’t included in the list.
The list of participating countries at Eurovision (including withdrawls) should be finalized towards the 11th of November 2023.
However, it seems the reality has changed.
Romanian broadcaster TVR is still in the process of approving the annual budget for 2024. Therefore, the EBU agreed to postpone the country’s decision on whether to take part in Eurovision 2024 or not.
TVR commented via paginademedia:
“Regarding Romania’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024, SRTv has not made a final decision.
At this moment, we are in contact with the organizers (European Broadcasting Union – EBU) and all options remain open.
The EBU granted Romanian television a postponement to express its options after the adoption of the state budget for 2024″.

Theodor Andrei represented Romania at Eurovision 2023 with the song “D.G.T. (Off and On)“.
Unfortunately, he finished in one of the 2 last places in semi-final 2:
We hope to see Romania back in the contest in the near future!
