As since 2019, Switzerland chooses its Eurovision act via a multi-stage internal selection.
The submission window opened on the 10th of August and closed on the 24th of August.
The selection process started with a Swiss jury, who have listened to the submitted songs. As they have gradually narrowed down the list

In addition to a Swiss audience jury, international audience juries are also involved in several selection rounds.
Most of the international jury members are former Eurovision jurors and/or former Eurovision participants. The jury panel will consist of 25 members.
The last update is that the selection has concluded into 5 last acts.

Based on Yves’ Instagram story, we can learn that Switzerland will step into a different path for Eurovision 2024!
At the 4 most recent editions of Eurovision (2020-2023), where Switzerland has been represented by a male act performing a ballad.



For Eurovision 2024, the formula will be a different one. It is unknown whether the genre will only be a different one, or the gender (bands? female artists) or both.
In the past the country has suggested artists of different genres like: upbeat pop, rock, mid-tempo pop ballads and more:



Swiss Internal Selection for Eurovision 2024 – Known Details
Based on the report made by Jean Marc Richard, from RTS Switzerland, we can learn the following:
- Around 420 songs were submitted to the selection process this year
- On the 5th of December, 5 final artists recorded their live performance at The SRF studios, Zurich.
- A jury of professionals and an international audience panel will listen to the 5 final songs and will rank them.
- The selection committee will make its final decision at the beginning of the new year.
- The Swiss song for Eurovision 2024 will be revealed in March 2024.
- It has been hinted that among the top 5 finalists, Switzerland might have some songs and artists that are different from the ones who have been sent in the recent years.
Remo Forrer represented Switzerland at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Watergun”.
He ended up in 20th place, with a total of 92 points.
