Icelandic broadcaster RÚV revealed the 10 artists who will compete in the national selection “Söngvakeppnin 2024”, alongside their songs.

Semi-Final 1

- Anita – Stingum af / Downfall
- Sunny – Fiðrildi (Eng: Butterfly)
- VÆB – Bíómynd/ Movie Scene
Semi-Final 2
- Hera Björk – Við förum hærra / Scared of Heights
- Heiðrún Anna – Þjakaður af ást (Eng: Tormented By Love)
- Bashar Murad – Vestrið villt / Wild West
- Sigga Ózk – Um allan alheiminn / Into the Atmosphere
- MAIAA – Fljúga burt / Break Away

Among the participants, we can recognize some familiar names and faces
- Hera Björk represented Iceland at Eurovision 2010 (and ended in the 19th place)
- Heiðrún Anna participated in “Söngvakeppnin 2019“
- Sigga Ózk participated in “Söngvakeppnin 2023“
About “Söngvakeppnin 2024”

- The selection process will include 3 televised shows: 2 semi-finals and a grand final.
- Semi-Final 1: Saturday, 17th of February 2024
- Semi-Final 2: Saturday, 24th of February 2024
- Grand Final: Saturday, 2nd of March 2024
- The semi-finals will be held in Truenorth studio in Fossaleyni. The final will take place in Laugardalshöllin, Reykjavík.
- Some established Icelandic writers and composers were invited to submit songs.
- 5 artists will compete in each semi-final. 4 artists (2 from each semi-final) will qualify for the final.
- A public vote will determine the semi-final results. Meanwhile, in the final, the decision will be a joint public vote and an international jury.
- The professional committee will have the right to save another song (in a wild-card format), so the final may include 5 songs.
- Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson and Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson will host the shows, as in 2023.

Eurovision 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11th of May 2024
