Israel: Listen to Eurovision 2024 Entry: “Hurricane” by Eden Golan


Eden Golan won the final of “The Rising Star For Eurovision 2024” (“Hakochav Haba La’Eurovision 2024).
She is set to represent the country at Eurovision 2024.

The song for Eurovision 2024 was selected, due to the decision of the professional committee.
The group behind the song is Keren Peles, Avi Ohayon and Stav Beger.

The Israeli Song For Eurovision 2024

Israeli broadcaster Kan held several discussions with the EBU to agree on the selected song and make sure it is aligned with the EBU regulations.
The central conflict came across in the lyrics of the song, as the EBU wanted to make sure they didn’t convey any political message.

However, “October Rain” wasn’t accepted by the EBU.
Kan has worked closely with the EBU to reach an agreement about the lyrics of the song.
Eden Golan and the creators of the song worked on several options until the golden path was found:

The EBU reference group has approved the new lyrics of the song. While the melody remained the same, the title of the song was changed to “Hurricane”. The new song tells the story of a woman who is trying to overcome a personal crisis and the way she manages to cope with it.

Eurovision 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11th of May 2024.
Israel will compete in the second half of semi-final 2.
