Finland Confirms “UMK 2025” As Eurovision 2025 Selection Process

Finnish broadcaster YLE confirmed the country’s intention to participate at Eurovision 2025.
As in recent years, “UMK” will be used as the selection process to select the artist and the song for Eurovision.

The submission window for “UMK 2025” will open on August 19th 2024 and will close on August 25th 2024.

The regulations of the selection will be the following:

  1. The maximum allowed song duration is 3 minutes.
  2. Performers must be at least 16 years of age by May 1st 2024.
  3. At least one of the song writers must have Finnish citizenship or permanent residence in Finland.
  4. At least one of the performers (or the solo performer) must have Finnish citizenship or a permanent residence in Finland.
  5. The song can be performed in any language. The lyrics mustn’t include any political message, no curses and no trademarks.
  6. The submitted songs won’t be released beforehand.
  7. The demo’s singer must be the same as in the televised show.
  8. A professional committee, assigned by YLE, will shortlist the submitted songs.
  9. “UMK 2025” will be held in February 2025.

Windows95man and Henri represented Finland at Eurovision 2024 with the song “No Rules!”.
They finished in 19th place with 38 points

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Switzerland.
