Shortly after the grand final of Eurovision 2024, RTL Luxembourg confirmed the country’s intention to take part in Eurovision 2025
Earlier today, the national broadcaster announced “The Luxembourg Song Contest 2025“ will be used as the Eurovision 2025 selection process.
The Luxembourg Song Contest 2025
- The submission window opened today (1st of July 2024) and will close on the 6th of October 2024.
- Singers who are interested will face live auditions, and a few of them will be selected to proceed by an international jury.
- Submission will be made online via this link
- There are 2 registration paths, one for singers and one for songs
- Interested singers will have to meet the following conditions:
- At least 16 years old by January 2025
- Available for auditions, rehearsals and derived projects between November 2024 and May 2025
- Holds Luxembourg nationality or have lived in Luxembourg for 3 consecutive years, or linked to the local culture.
- Ability to perform live, with the presence of audience
- In case of groups, at least one of the members might meet the mentioned conditions.
- Submitted songs will have to meet the following criteria:
- Haven’t been published prior to September 1st 2024
- The maximum duration is 3 minutes.
- Each artist can submit up to 5 songs
- No language limitations
The shortlisted songs will be performed live in a televised show, where the results will be determined by a combination of the public and expert jury.
Luxembourg returned to the contest after a long break of 31 years.
However, they have managed to win the contest on 5 different occasions.
Tali represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Fighter”.
She finished in 13th place with 103 points
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Switzerland.
