Iceland Confirms Eurovision 2025 Participation

Icelandic broadcaster RUV has just confirmed the country will compete in Eurovision 2025.
RUV has had some criticism over the latest Eurovision edition. However, it seems that the will to participate defeats those concerns.

In an official statement, the Icelandic broadcaster didn’t mention the selection method for Eurovision 2025.
However, Iceland mostly sticks to its national selection: “Söngvakeppnin“.
It is also possible that “Söngvakeppnin” will undergo some format changes, if it is the selection process for Eurovision 2025.

Rúnar Frey Gíslasyn, RUV’s Eurovision project manager, commented:

The competition is a source of joy and satisfaction for a large part of the population and a venue for precious family time all over the country.

Hera Björk represented Iceland at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Scared of Heights”.
She finished in 15th (and last) place in semi-final 1

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
