Australia Confirms Eurovision 2025 Participation

Australian broadcaster confirms the country will compete in Eurovision 2025.
This confirmation has been made through SBS plans for the the upcoming year.
The selection method for Eurovision 2025 is still unknown.
However, it seems more likely to have an internal selection for the upcoming contest.

Australia at Eurovision

Australia received a special invitation to take part in Eurovision in 2015.
The Australian broadcaster has broadcast the show for many years before, building a local Eurovision base.
Thereafter, the country was invited to contest each year by the reference group.
The situation changed in February 2019, when the EBU offered 5 years contract that guarantees Australia’s participation at Eurovision.
Ever since then, Australia has had to request participatiion approval, as SBS doesn’t hold a full EBU membership.

Electric Fields represented Australia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “One Milkaly (One Blood)”. They finished in 11st place in semi-final 1.

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
