“Festival da Canção 2025” Entries Will Be Revealed on January 23

RTP, The Portuguese broadcaster, is ready to kick off its journey to Basel and surprised the fans with “Save the date” teaser for January 23. This will be the day when all the 20 entries participating in this year edition of the national final “Festival da Canção” will be announced.

So far we know about the 20 composers qualified for the semi-finals:

Semi-Final 1:

  • Beato
  • Bluay
  • Capital da Bulgária
  • Jéssica Pina
  • JOSH
  • Marco Rodrigues
  • Margarida Campelo
  • Peculiar
  • Tiago Sampaio
  • Xico Gaiat

Semi-Final 2:

  • A Cantadeira
  • Bombazine
  • Emmy Curl
  • EU.CLIDES
  • Fernando Daniel
  • Luca Argel
  • Os Napa
  • Diana Vilarinho
  • Henka
  • Inês Marques Lucas

Some composers will perform their songs, while in other cases other artists will perform those songs.
The list includes Fernando Daniel and EU CLIDES, composers who have already competed in the festival.

“Festival da Canção 2025” – Main Details

  1. 20 artists will compete in the festival this year. RTP directly invited 14 composers to submit songs (some of them will perform their songs), and selected 6 additional songs from the open path.
  2. The festival will feature 2 semi-finals and a final:
    • Semi-Final 1: Saturday, the 22nd of February 2025
    • Semi-Final 2: Saturday, the 1st of March 2025
    • Final: Saturday, 8th of March 2025
  3. 10 artists will compete in each semi-final, 6 qualifying from each semi-final to the final.
  4. The semi-final results will be determined in 2 rounds:
    • First round – a 50% national jury and a 50% public vote. The 5 songs with the highest combined ranking will advance to the final.
    • The second round will be determined solely by the public vote. One additional song will earn a ticket to the final.
  5. The grand final results will be based on a 50% national jury vote and a 50% public vote.


Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025
