German TV producer Stefan Raab (who represented Germany in Eurovision 2000) will lead the selection process together with the German broadcasters ARD and RTL.
The selection process is “Chefsache ESC 2025 – Who sings for Germany”

“Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland” – Known Details

- Submissions closed on the 28th of November 2024.
- The selection will feature 4 live-shows
- The dates of the shows:
- Heat 1 (Show 1) : Friday, 14th of February 2025
- Heat 2 (Show 2) : Saturday, 15th of February 2025
- Semi-Final (Show 3) : Saturday, 22nd of February 2025
- Final (Show 4): Saturday, 1st of March 2025 at 20:15 local time.
- 24 acts made it through to the live shows.
- The first 2 shows are the heats. 12 artists will compete in each heat
- 7 artists will qualify from each heat.
- 14 artists will compete in the semi-final (the 3rd show), 9 of them will make it to the final.
- The results of the first 3 shows will be decided by a jury panel, led by Raab.
- The results of the final will be based on the public vote
- Beloved Barbara Schöneberger will host the shows
- The jury members will be: Stefan Raab, Yvonne Catterfeld and Elton.
- 3,281 artists applied for the selection:
- 1,198 artists submitted a cover (and not an original song)
- around 20% of the submissions came from bands.
Who will represent Germany at Eurovision 2025?
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025.
