Austria: ORF Announces The Eurovision 2026 Core Team

Following Austria’s winning Eurovision 2025, the national broadcaster ORF will host Eurovision 2026.
While several cities are finalizing their bid to host the contest, ORF has already appointed the members of the Eurovision 2026 core team

Some of the members have already been part of the Eurovision 2015 team, the last time Austria hosted the Eurovision Song Contest.

Lets’ meet the core team!

  • Michael Krön – The Executive Producer: He will report to the ORF management, leading the overall project, and will represent the national broadcaster in the highest levels.
  • Stefan Zechner – Show Producer: Previously, he has been the head of the Austrian delegation since 2011. In addition, he was the show producer back in 2015.
  • Daniel HackHead of Production: Previously, he was the production economic manager of the ORF Multimedia Newsroom.
  • Christine Tichy – Technical Manager: Previously, she was the Assistant Production Manager on Eurovision 2015.
  • Roman Horacek – Head of Communications: Has been the Head of Media for the Austrian ESC delegations since 2005. He implemented the same role in 2015.
  • Iris Keutter – Marketing Manager: She has been in the same role since 2015, responsible for partnerships, agendas.
  • Oliver Lingens – Event Manager: He will be responsible for operational matters, from tickets, locations, events, the media center, and more. He was part of the event team in 2015.
  • Christina Lassnig Executive Assistant: She will be focusing on internal matters.
  • Christina Heinzle-Conrad – Secretary General
  • Martin Szerencsi – Legal Adavisor. He was in the same role in 2015.

ORF Director General Roland Weißmann commented:

With the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, ORF has taken on a mega-project, for which we have just under a year to implement. The existing know-how and ESC experience at ORF are invaluable. I am pleased that we have been able to assemble a team of experts who, under the leadership of Executive Producer Michael Krön, will make ESC 2026 an unforgettable event that all of Austria can be proud of

ORF Programs Director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz reacted:

We will make ESC 2026 an on- and off-air event of the highest international standard for the whole family, showcasing our country at its best. I am excited about this challenge and wish Michael Krön and his entire team all the best.

The Executive Producer, Michael Krön commented:

It is a great honour and pleasure for me to implement the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Austria as Executive Producer. Of course, I am aware that this is one of the biggest and most challenging tasks in the media business. I am confident that as a team, with the combined strength of ORF, we will host an ESC that makes Austria proud and impresses the world
