After closing the submission window for “Melodifestivalen 2026″, Swedish broadcaster SVT announced that 3,888 songs were submitted to the selection process for Eurovision 2026.
“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Rumored Artists
Based on the Swedish media, and especially Expressen and Aftonbladet, we can reveal some of the leading names that will reportedly participate in “Melodifestivalen 2026″.
We would like to highlight that the names aren’t officially confirmed by SVT
#1. Smash Into Pieces
The rock band has already participated in “Melodifestivalen” twice. They finished in 3rd place in both 2023 and 2024.
The band usually delivers rock songs with gaming elements and bold graphics.
#2. Felicia (Fröken Snusk)
Felicia, the singer behind the character Fröken Snusk, is expected to take part in “Melodifestivalen 2026″.
She competed in “Melodifestivalen 2024” with the song “Unga & Fria”.
Recently, she has begun performing under her real name and released the song “Black Widow.“
#3. Greczula
The 33-year-old Kristofer Greczula is expected to take the stage for the 2nd year in a row.
In 2025, he competed with “Believe Me” and ended in third place.
#4. Medina
The Medina duo (Sami Rekik and Ali Jammali) is expected to compete in “Melodifestivalen” for the third time.
Previously, they competed in “Melodifestivalen 2022” and “Melodifestivalen 2024”, where they ended 3rd and 2nd, respectively.

The 32-year-old Afghanistan-born dancer, actress, and influencer is planning to take another ride on the “Melodifestivalen” stage.
In 2025, she competed in “Melodifestivalen 2025” with “Hush Hush”.
She won the second chance round, and ended 10th in the final.
#7. Eva Jumatate
Eva rose to fame when she competed in “Talang” on TV4 and finished as the runner-up.
Back then, at the age of 11, she impressed the jury.
Now, at 17, she is rumored to have her “Melodifestivalen” debut
#8. Manoel “Junior” Marques Lerin
The Brazilian star is married to the Swedish painter and author Lars Lerin.
Previously, he participated in “Let’s Dance” on TV4.
His debut “Melodifestivalen” song is said to have been written by Fredrik Andersson, who is the writer behind the Eurovision 2016 song (“If I Were Sorry” by Frans), as well as “I Won’t Shake” (Gunilla 2024), “I Want to Be Loved” (Samira Manners 2022), and “Hallaballo” (Danne Stråhed, 2022).
Besides that, Gunilla Persson has revealed she submitted an entry to “Melodifestivalen 2026“.
Her song was written by Adam Woods, and it is about rising from the ashes when life is tough.
She competed in “Melodifestivalen 2024” with “I Won’t Shake”.
“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Known Details
- The competition will consist of 6 shows: 5 semi-finals and a grand final.
- 30 acts will compete in the semi-final, 12 of them will qualify for the final.
- The dates and host cities will be as follows:
- Semi-Final 1: January 31st, 2026 (Linköping)
- Semi-Final 2: February 7th, 2026 (Göteborg)
- Semi-Final 3: February 14th, 2026 (Kristianstad)
- Semi-Final 4: February 21st, 2026 (Malmö)
- Semi-Final 5: February 28th, 2026 (Sundsvall)
- Final: March 7th, 2026 (Stockholm)
- 3,888 songs were submitted to “Melodifestivalen 2026“
- The selected jury will shortlist the submitted songs. The panel will consist of the “Melodifestivalen” main board members, among them Karin Gunnarsson (“Melodifestivalen” producer).
- There aren’t any restrictions regarding the language of the songs.
- At least 30% of the chosen acts will be performed in Swedish.
- At least 50% of the chosen songs must feature female writers/composers.
