“Luxembourg Song Contest 2026”: More About The Selection Process

Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL revealed more details regarding the national selection for Eurovision 2026. The show will be used as the national selection for Eurovision for the 3rd year in a row.

With the closing of the submission window, it has been revealed that a total of 83 songs have been submitted to the selection process. Overall, 58 artists applied to the selection process.
Which means that some artists have submitted 2-3 songs.
Among the 58 artists, there are some familiar names, alongside newcomers.

“Luxembourg Song Contest 2026” – Known Details

  1. The final show will take place in Rockhal, at Esch-sur-Alzette on January 24th, 2026.
  2. The live auditions will take place in front of an international expert jury, between October 24th and October 26th, 2025.
  3. The list of finalists will be revealed gradually on Thursday, October 30th, 2025.
  4. There were 2 path for submissions:
    • Artists with songs
    • Artists without songs or songs

The live auditions jury members are:

  1. Elsie Bay (Norway) – The singer-songwriter has written 5 entries to the Norwegian selection for Eurovision (“Melodi Grand Prix”), twice as the performer. In addition, she wrote “Drowning in The Rain” (Krick, “Luxembourg Song Contest 2024“, 2nd place) and “Shh” (Theo Evan, Cyprus Eurovision 2025).

2. Karin Gunnarsson (Sweden) – A music editor in Swedish radio and the producer of “Melodifestivalen” (The Swedish selection for Eurovision).

3. Paul Jordan (UK) – A British Eurovision expert. He has been a jury member in the Irish selection (2023) and the French selection (2019). Besides that, he was part of the communication team of the Eurovision Song Contest.

#4. Ludovic-Alexandre Vidal (France) – A lyricist who created the song “La Poupée Monte le Son” together with Julien Salvia. The song performed by Laura Thorn represented Luxembourg in Eurovision 2025. Ludovic contributed to the musical scene, with shows around the world.

#5. Gísli Berg (Iceland) – The Executive producer of the Icelandic selection for Eurovision – “Söngvakeppnin“. He has also been part of the Icelandic delegation for Eurovision since 2019

Laura Thorn represented Luxembourg in Eurovision 2025
She performed “La Poupée Monte Le Son” and ended in 22nd place with 47 points:
