Luxembourg Confirms Intention to Participate in Eurovision 2027

The Luxembourg national broadcaster RTL confirmed the country is interested in participating in Eurovision 2027.

DP MP Marc Hansen raised the question in the Chamber of Deputies on Thursday afternoon.
The Luxembourgish government must fund the participation in order to approve it officially.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Media Luc Frieden commented:

So we have to make sure that it really is a boost for Luxembourgish singers. The collaboration with RTL and the Rockhal is excellent and that’s why I intend to propose to the government that we do the same next year. And then the organizational and artistic issues need to be clarified in that group, including the financial ones, but I think a solution can be found.

According to his vision, The ESC would be a good opportunity to increase the visibility of Luxembourg as a country and would allow the Luxembourg music industry in particular to present itself abroad.

It is most likely that the country will select its Eurovision 2027 song via the national selection “The Luxembourg Song Contest 2027”. Negotiations are currently underway with all the actors organizing the Luxembourg Song Contest. According to Luc Frieden, the focus should be on ensuring that the national cultural scene feels included.

Eva Marija represented Luxembourg in Eurovision 2026.
She performed “Mother Nature” and didn’t qualify for the final.

Eurovision 2027 will be held in Bulgaria in May 2027
