Philippines: Star Music PH unveils entries for the Philippine Selection Night

Star Music PH, one of the Philippines’ largest record labels and the music recording and publishing arm of ABS-CBN (the Philippine broadcaster for Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026) has already announced not just the entries that are in the running for the Philippine Selection Night but the entrants behind each song as well!

Ten entries are up in the running, with some entries sung by soloists, others by a duo and some others by a group.

Here are the entries and their respective artists in order of announcement by Star Music PH on their social media accounts:

The first entry for the Philippine Selection Night is “Between Bituin” (Between Stars) and it will be performed by DNA, a trio composed of sisters Tasha, Julia and Ezri Mitra. The sisters have roots in Original Pilipino Music (OPM), the broader genre to which PPop (Philippine Pop) belongs to as they are the nieces of Asia’s Songbird and OPM legend, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. The trio is related to Regine as her niece through their mother, Cacai Velasquez-Mitra who is Regine’s sister. The trio’s father is Raul Mitra, who is also an important figure in the OPM industry as a musical director.

DNA debuted in 2025 with the song “Don’t Ask Me Why”. They are also known for other hits such as “Bingo” and “Gala To The Max”, the latter being a jingle that they sang for SM Supermalls, one of the largest shopping mall chains in the Philippines.

Saga, formerly known professionally as John Saga is the voice behind the second entry for the Philippine Selection Night, “Broken Beyond Repair”. Saga is known for performing OPM ballads and he is currently signed to Star Music PH. His latest release is an EP titled “Diamante” which contains five tracks including the titular single.

Saga has also released other singles such as “Akin Ka Nalang”, “Underground” and “Bilang”, the latter two being collaboration tracks. “Underground” is his collaboration with Nica del Rosario and Bojam while “Bilang” is his collaboration with Antenorcruz and Raven Heyres.

Third on the Philippine Selection Night entries is “CHERI(E)” which is a collaboration by The Voice Kids Philippines alumnae Elha Nympha and Esang de Torres, musical theater performer Lance Reblando and soloist Nar Cabico.

Elha Nympha’s post-The Voice Kids Philippines songs include “Pahinga”, “Babalik” and “Ligaya” which are all R&B songs that showcase her soulful voice.

Esang de Torres’ post-The Voice Kids Philippines songs include the upbeat pop ballad track “Heartbeat” which is inspired from 1980s OPM pop music as well as “Hold Me” and “Praising Hours”.

Lance Reblando on the other hand is known for performing in musical theater productions as well as for performing songs from musicals. Here is Lance performing the version of Britney Spears’ “I’m Not A Girl (Not Yet A Woman)” from the pop musical, &Juliet:

Nar Cabico is known for his acoustic-driven tracks such as “Gaga” and “Ako Ang Nararapat Sa’yo”, the latter being his debut single that catapulted him to fame.

Fourth on the list of entries for the Philippine Selection Night is “Di Yan (Red Flag)” (Not Him (Red Flag) by Jason Dy and Sassa Dagdag. Jason Dy was the winner of the second season of The Voice Philippines while Sassa Dagdag is an alumna of The Voice Kids Philippines Season 2.

Jason is no stranger to being involved in song contests. He was involved in the production of “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat”, an entry from the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs song contest’s 2013 edition, as the demo vocalist (the song would later go on to be performed by Filipino actor Daniel Padilla for the contest itself). He also competed in PhilPop 2016 with the song “Lahat”.

Sassa on the other hand is known for her own take of famous hits, including OPM hits such as “Upuan” by Gloc9

The fifth song in the running for the Philippine Selection Night is “Good For You” by Ryssi Avila. Ryssi is known for finishing as the first runner up of Idol Philippines Season 2, the second season of the Philippines’ franchise of Pop Idol.

Ryssi’s most recent release is her single “For Real” which came out last month:

The sixth entry to the Philippine Selection Night is “Mapadama” (Make You Feel) which is a duet between JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano.

JM Dela Cerna is best known for competing in Tawag Ng Tanghalan, a noontime talent search show broadcasted by ABS-CBN through its noontime variety show, It’s Showtime.

Marielle Montellano, like JM Dela Cerna, is also a product of Tawag Ng Tanghalan

Both JM and Marielle have worked together before the Philippine Selection Night, doing various duet performances including a cover of Defying Gravity from Wicked in Your Face Sounds Familiar, the Philippine franchise of Spanish game show Tu cara me suena

PPop boyband AJAA are the voices behind the seventh entry of the Philippine Selection Night titled “Make It Exist”. AJAA is a boyband signed to Star Music PH and they debuted in the year 2023 with the single “Hany”. The boyband consists of four members namely JC, Ash, Alex and Axl with Ash leading the group and serving as its lead rapper. JC is the group’s lead vocalist and main dancer, Axl is also the group’s lead vocalist while Alex is the youngest member of the group and also serves as the main rapper and lead dancer of the group.

Idol Philippines Season 2 winner Khimo is the voice behind the eighth entry to the Philippine Selection Night titled “Reason To Live”. After winning Idol Philippines Season 2, he was signed to Star Music PH and released music including his self-titled EP whose lead single is called “Kamahalan”.

The ninth entry of the Philippine Selection Night is “Round N’ Round” sung by PPop girl group VVINK and Russu of PPop boyband WRIVE.

VVINK is a PPop girl group under FlipMusic Records and their latest song is the OPM rap song “It’s A Rap” from their first album IT STARTS WITH A WINK

Russu on the other hand, is a member of WRIVE, a PPop boyband under Star Music PH. While Russu has not yet released any singles as a solo artist, his vocals are featured in a cover version of Hahahahasula, a Cebuano-language song originally sung by Kurt Fick.

Finally rounding up the ten entries of the Philippine Selection Night is “Sobra-Sobra” (Too Much) by Carmelle.

Carmelle is a soloist known for her song, “Morena” which celebrates the beauty of olive-skinned Filipinas who are commonly referred to as “Morenas” in the Philippines. Her hit single is also familiar to those who have attended BINI’s Signals World Tour as its music video is among the music videos repeatedly played before the concert’s soundcheck and before the concert itself. Carmelle is signed under Star Music PH.
