Moldova: Final Decision Regarding Eurovision 2027 is Underway

Moldova is one of the countries that have remained silent regarding its Eurovision 2027 participation. In fact, the country hasn’t confirmed its participation yet.

The Polish Eurovision website ESC Spot says Moldova hasn’t finalized its plans for Eurovision 2027 yet. Moldovan broadcaster TRM has been granted an extended deadline to determine its participation.

Veronica Cojocaru, the head of the Moldova Eurovision delegation, explained that the request is rooted in a change in the board team. More precisely, the CEO of TRM has resigned just after Eurovision 2026. It was following a scandal, because the Moldovan jury granted 3 points to the Romanian entry

The new CEO will be announced in the coming days and will be the one to determine Moldova’s participation in Eurovision 2027.

In January 2025, Moldova withdrew from Eurovision 2025
The main reason seems rooted in a decrease in public interest, as well as in the quality of the submitted songs and economic challenges.

The withdrawal was made during the preparations for Eurovision 2025, where 12 artists passed the auditions and were meant to participate in the national final.

Eurovision 2027 will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria on May 11th, 13th, 15th, 2027
