Swedish broadcaster SVT will select its Eurovision 2027 entry via “Melodifestivalen 2027“.
4077 entries were submitted to the selection process, which marks a record

“Melodifestivalen 2027” – Rumored Artists

Swedish media, and especially Aftonbladet, reported the additional names of potential artists who are rumored to compete in “Melodifestivalen 2027″.
We would like to highlight that the names aren’t officially confirmed by SVT

#9. Cazzi Opeia

The 37-year-old Swedish singer-songwriter is rumored to compete in “Melodifestivalen” for the 3rd time as a performer.
In 2022, she competed with “I Can’t Get Enough” and ended 9th in the final:

In 2024, she competed with “Give My Heart a Break” and ended 4th in the final:

In addition, Cazzi contributed to “Melodifestivalen” as a songwriter. She wrote 6 songs (besides those she performed), with “Tattoo” by Loreen as the most established of them, which ended up as the Eurovision 2023 winner.

10. Nomi Tales

The 29-year-old singer Nomi Tales is also reported to be participating in “Melodifestivalen 2027″.
This will mark her 2nd attempt in the contest.
In 2025, she competed with “Funniest Thing”, and didn’t make it to the final:

11. Royz Rollerz

Royz Rollerz is a Swedish dance band that is rumored to compete in “Melodifestivalen” for the first time. The band members are Anton Älvstrand, Amadeus Lejonclou, Johannes “Jo-Gu” Gunnarsson, Theodor Krieg, and Axel Duda. The band was formed in Spring 2025 at Dreamhill Music Academy in Örnsköldsvik.

“Melodifestivalen 2027” – Known Details

Björn Kjellman and Oscar Zia will host “Melodifestivalen 2027″.
The selected jury will shortlist the submitted songs.
The competition will consist of 6 shows: 5 semi-finals and a grand final.
The show will be held on the following dates and in the cities”
1. Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 6th, 2027 (Löfbergs Arena, Karlstad)
2. Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 13th, 2027 (Scandinavium, Göteborg)
3. Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 20th, 2027 (Malmö Arena, Malmö)
4. Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 27th, 2027 (Halmstad Arena, Halmstad)
5. Semi-Final 5: Saturday, March 6th, 2027 (Himmelstalundshallen, Norrköping)
6. Final: Saturday, March 13th, 2027 (Strawberry Arena, Stockholm)
4,077 songs were submitted to the “Melodifestivalen 2027″.
30 acts will compete in the semi-final, 12 of them will qualify for the final.
There aren’t any restrictions regarding the language of the songs.
At least 30% of the chosen acts will be performed in Swedish.
At least 50% of the chosen songs must feature female writers/composers.
Any Swedish citizen/resident can apply. Foreign performers are welcome, as long as at least one of the songwriters/composers is Swedish.
Performers must be at least 18 years old by May 2027.
All submitted songs must not have been released before the contest.
The song duration must be between 2 and 3 minutes.
SVT might invite some performers, writers and composers to submits songs.
The 30 selected artists and the team behind each song will be revealed in a press conference in November-December 2026.
