Söngvakeppnin Finalists Friðrik Ómar Accused Of Plagiarized Rihanna

Yesterday we informed you about Petruska Disqualified From the Hungarian national final “A Dal” for plagiarism reason, and today another claim filed, this time in Iceland.

The new claim accuses Söngvakeppnin 2019 finalist Friðrik Ómar entry “Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað” to have a similar melody to Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain” released in 2016.

It is still early to know if the claim will force Friðrik to be disqualified from the contest. RÚV, Icelandic broadcast, has yet to react for the accusations and an official statement will probably be out soon.
