Israeli broadcast KAN announced today that “Hakohav Haba” winner Kobi Merimi will sing “Home” as the Israeli entry for Eurovision song contest 2019.
The song was chosen by a committee consists of Yoav Tzafir, Tamira Yardeni, Aviad Zingboym, Yuval Ganor, Naama Hadassi, and Michal Asulin received over 200 songs by Israel’s top composers, among them “Hakohav Haba” judges Keren Peles and Shiri Maimon.
Israel’s 2019 entry “Home” is a ballad that will embrace Kobi’s ability to touch viewers heart using his powerful voice and unique interpretation. the song was written by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman. Ohad himself is “Hakohav Haba” finalist who finished 3rd in the 8th season of the show previously called “Kohav Nolad“.
The song title gets off course another meaning as Kobi will sing “Home” in the Eurovision song contest returns to Kobi’s home country, Israel, after 20 years.
“Home” video clip will premiere at the Israeli television academy awards 2018 on March 10th and will automatically participate in the grand final on May 18.
