“Eurovision Song CZ” Is Going Through Some Major Changes For 2020 Season

česká television,  the Czech Republic national broadcast shed some light regarding their preparations for the next Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands.

It was reported today that same as last year, eight acts will battle for the golden ticket to Rotterdam. four of them was selected unanimously behind closed doors, and the other four remainings were selected through auditions round the broadcast held for 12 candidates last week on the 27 and 28 of August.

Now, after the final 8 acts are known to the Czech delegation, the team has begun their work with the contestants for the song selection scheduled for January 25th, 2020

As česká television was very happy to see the foreign media attention on their song selection in 2018 they decided to add some massive changes for this year competition. unlike previous years that the Czech entry was selected based on professional music videos, the entry for Eurovision 2020 will be through a live aired show from Prague where all eight acts will perform their songs for the viewers’ judge.

The Czech republic first debut the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 where they failed to qualify for the finals scoring only 1 point. In 2019, band Lake Malawi and their “Friend of a friend” entry almost reached the finals Top10, finished 11th with a total of 157 points. The 65th Eurovision Song Contest that will take place in Rotterdam on May 12,14 and 16 2020.
