Slovenia: “EMA 2021” To be Held On February 27th

Ana Soklič‘ who has won “EMA 2020” with the song “Voda“, has been internally selected to represent Slovenia at Eurovision 2021

The official page EMA – Eurovision Slovenia published the following post on the 27th of January 2021.

According the post, it was confirmed that Slovenia will hold “EMA 2021” on Saturday the 27th of February 2021

However, the accurate format of “EMA 2021″ hasn’t been revealed yet:

First of all, we know that the Slovenian broadcaster RTV SLO has received a record number of 191 songs for Eurovision 2021.
The Slovenian broadcaster, in cooperation with the performer and expert committee have narrowed the list of songs.
At the end of the process (before the show itself) , 1-5 songs will be shortlisted for Eurovision 2021.

Therefore, “EMA 2021” can be a show where the final song will be revealed or a national selection show where the public/jury/ public and jury will vote for their favorite song.
However, a certain thing is that the broadcaster will celebrate 60 years of participation of Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest. The first participation was back in 1961, under the name of Yugoslavia:
Ljiljana Petrović – Neke Davne Zvezde

Slovenia will compete in the first half of semi-final 1 at Eurovision 2021
