65 hopefuls made through auditions for Russian national selection for Junior Eurovision 2021.

Once again Igor Krutoy Academy held the selection for Russian entry for Junior Eurovision 2021.The academy reports that 600 submissions were received and on 30th September 2021 they were holding auditions where 69 entries were invited but only 65 hopefuls qualified auditions round.

Jury of the auditions were:

Stella Kachanyants (General Director of the Igor Krutoy Academy)
Konstantin Rabotov (Author and composer, teacher of the Igor Krutoy Academy)
Taras Demchuk (Composer, sound producer)
Igor Smirnov (music producer, composer)

Stella expressed the tought of hosting the auditions

”This is a very significant event for us. We missed children so much. It was the first big casting after the summer break. This year we have a record – about 600 applications have been submitted for the competition. We watched a lot of talented children and bright performances. Everyone enjoyed it tremendously! About 15 participants will go to the final of the National Competition, with whom we will be happy to meet at the final selection of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.”

Konstantin added:

‘‘This year there were many strong members, many dynamic and trendy songs, the influence of Tik-Tok on children is still evident. The casting was mainly pop music, but there was also a folk direction, and folk songs in pop adaptation, and pop-rock. At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, not only the vocals are evaluated, but also the charisma of the artist and the performance itself.”

Only 15 acts will go through to the national final which is be held in Moscow in October 2021.There is no dates when the national final.

We already know one of the act that tried her luck again to represent Russia and its Tatyana Mezhentseva who was part of duet with song ”A Time For Us” which represented Russia at Junior Eurovision 2019.Its still unclear if she made to the national selection or not.
