As always, Sweden will use “Melodifestivalen” as their selection for Eurovision.
28 acts will compete on the right to represent the country at Eurovision 2022.
SVT is also planning to take Melodifestivalen on tour around Sweden after “Melodifestivalen 2021″ edition was held only in Stockholm with no audience. Tour dates and locations for Melodifestivalen 2022 will be:

Semi-Final 1: Malmö – Malmö Arena (5th February 2022)
Semi-Final 2: Gothenburg – Scandinavium (12th Feburary 2022)
Semi-Final 3: Linköping – Saab Arena (19th February 2022)
Semi-Final 4: Lidköping – Sparbanken Arena (26th February 2022)
Semi-Final 5: Örnsköldsvik – Hägglunds Arena (5th March 2022)
Final: Stockholm – Friends Arena (12th March 2022)
The overall number of competing acts will be 28 which will remain the same. During the first 4 semi-finals, two acts will advance directly to the final as normal, while two other acts will advance to the 5th semi-final. The 8 acts in Semi-Final 5 will then be divided into two groups. The two songs that receive the most votes in each group will advance to the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2022.
Oscar Zia will host Melodifestivalen 2022 with multiple co-hosts.
Last Friday, Swedish broadcaster SVT revealed half of the participants in “Melodifestivalen 2022“.
SVT didn’t hold any special press conferences this year.
Here are the 14 participants alongside the song titles and writers behind them:

Anna Bergendahl – Higher Power

Anna Bergendahl represented Sweden at Eurovision 2010 with the ballad “This is My Life” and unfortunately, didn’t qualify for the final
Her first “Melodifestivalen” was in 2010 when she was announced as the winner.
Since then, she made 2 more appearances in the national selection:
In 2019, she performed the song “Ashes to Ashes” and ended up 10th in the final:

Robin Bengtsson – Inocent Love

Robin Bengtsson has participated 3 times in “Melodifestivalen“.
His most recent participation was in 2020 with the song “Take a Chance“, he ended up 8th in the grand final.
In 2017, Robin won “Melodifestivalen 2017” with the song “I Can’t Go On”. He represented Sweden in Eurovision 2017 and ended up 5th in the grand final.
Tenori – La Stella

Tenori is a duo of 2 male-singers who sing in the pop-opera genre.
The duo consists of Alexander Grove and Kalle Leander.

Lance Hedman is 21-year old Swedish singer.
He is well known for being one half of the duo Lance & Linton that created dance and house music.

Lillasyster – Til Our Days Are Over

Lillasyster is a Swedish rock band formed in Gothenburg in 2006. The band members are: Martin Westerstrand, Max Flövik, Daniel Cordero, and Ian-Paolo Lira.
They released their debut album in May 2007.
In 2021, they made their debut in “Melodifestivalen 2021″ with the song “Pretender“.
They didn’t advance to the final.
Malou Pritz – Bananas

18 year old Malou Prytz will make her 3rd appearance in “Melodifestivalen.”
In 2019, she performed the song “I Do Me” and ended up 12th in the grand final.

MEDINA – “In I Dimman” (Eng: Into The Fog)

The hip-hop duo that’s composed by Sami Daniel Rekik and Ali Jammali will participate in “Melodifestivalen 2022“.
One of the duo members, has already participated in “Melodifestivalen“.
In 2021, Sami collaborated with WAHL on the song “90 talet“ which didn’t qualify for the final:
Angelino – The End

Angelino (real name: Angelino Markenhorn) will make his debut participation in “Melodifestivalen”.
According to rumors, Angelino will enter the contest with a song that was co-written by Danish composer Thomas Stengaard (who has written the winning song of Eurovision 2013 – “Only Teardrops“).

Shirley Natasja Clamp is a British Swedish pop singer. She has achieved four Top 10 singles in Sweden, including a Number 1 hit in 2009, and three Top 10 albums.
Shirley will make her 7th participation of “Melodifestivalen” this time.
She has participated in “Melodifestivalen” in the years: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2014.
Her best achievement was a 2nd place in 2004 with the song “Min Karlek“:

Lisa Miskovsky is a Swedish singer-songwriter.
Her main genre is pop-rock. So far, she has released 6 studio albums, the latter of which in 2019.
4 of her albums were ranked in top110 chart in Swedish music charts.
Lisa participated in “Melodifestivalen 2012” with the song “Why Start a Fire” and ended up 9th in the grand-final:

Browsing Collection is a rock band consisting of 4 members:

Malin Christin Johansson is the big sister of “Melodifestivalen” participant in the past – Wiktoria Johansson.
Malin isn’t a stranger to Eurovision. She was one of the co-writers of Malta‘s entry for Eurovision 2021 “Je me casse” (performed by Destiny).

Tone Sekelius – My Way

Tone Sekelius, born July 16, 1997 in Växjö, is a Swedish video blogger who, among other things, makes videos about makeup.
On February 22, 2021, Sekelius came out as a trans person when she told about the name change from Thomas to Tone.
