Earlier today, the traditional Head of Delegation meeting took place in Turin, Italy.
This meeting is part of the schedule ahead of each Eurovision edition.
The aim of the edition is to discuss plans for Eurovision 2022 events and share some updates.
During the meeting, the spot of the host country was randomly selected.
The Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Martin Österdahl, drew Italy to perform 9th in the grand final of Eurovision 2022
Following their win at the music festival “Festival Di Sanremo 2022“, Mahmood and Blanco will represent the host country at Eurovision 2022.
The duo will perform the Italian ballad “Brividi“:
for the singer Mahmood, it will be the second attempt on the Eurovision stage.
His first attempt was in 2019 with the song “Soldi” which granted the 2nd place to Italy
The accurate semi-finals running order will be determined by Italian broadcaster RAI and the EBU later on (End of March – Middle of April 2022).
However, the allocation draw for each half of each semi-final has been determined at the end of January 2022:
