Will Israel Attend Eurovision 2022 in Turin?

Michael Ben David was chosen to represent Israel at Eurovision 2022 with the song “I.M”.
He won the last season of “X-Factor Israel“.

A month later, the song was revamped and this is the new version:

However, this morning, the Israeli fans woke up to a local drama.
The ongoing strike of the Ministry of Foreign affairs makes it impossible to arrive in Turin. why?

Every year, Israeli participation depends on fulfilling the security protocol, as the country and its citizens might be exposed to terror attacks, even outside of the country.
The mentioned strike prevents the involvement of the relevant employees and should ensure and secure Israel’s participation.
In fact, this group of people should visit Turin before the beginning of the rehearsals,

Therefore, the Israeli broadcaster Kan has stated that the Israeli delegation won’t attend Turin.
So what are the options?

  • The less common one would be withdrawing, but we don’t believe it will happen.
  • Another option is to participate remotely, with the approval of the EBU.
  • The last option and probably the wished one, it that the conflict will be solved, with the help of the Israeli government.
