As we have reported in the past, Belgium will select an artist and a song for Eurovision 2023 via a national selection: “Eurosong 2023“.
According to the Belgian website, “Songfestival.be“, some artists won’t be able to submit their candidacy for Eurovision 2023.
Instead of opening the submission window, Flemish Belgain broadcaster VRT will choose to work directly with the leading record labels in the country.
The national broadcaster will approach them to suggest artists compete in the national selection.

Gerrit Kerremans, VRT Music Coordinator, commented:
Due to the late decision to organize a pre-selection, no open call was made. Instead, a different approach was taken: The A&R (Artists and repertoire) team consulted a broad group of record labels and managers regarding the availability of potential candidates.
The exact format and dates for “Eurosong 2023” haven’t been revealed yet.
More details will come in the upcoming months.
Jérémie Makiese represented Belgium with the song “Miss you” at Eurovision 2022.
He finished in the 19th place in the final:
