Spanish broadcaster RTVE closed submissions for Bendirm Fest 2023 on Monday at 11:59 pm.
In total, 876 songs have been submitted. Songs come in all different styles, and artists received 40 days in an open submission period.
482 songs have been received via website and email, while 394 songs have been sent directly by record companies and publishing labels.
Data similar to the first edition has experienced more active participation from the record companies and professionalization of the proposals received, with more well-known faces among the applicants to participate in the Bendriom Fest 2023.

Currently, RTVE Eurovision working group is carefully listening to the submissions to choose the 16 best candidates that will participate in the Benidorm Fest semi-finals on 31st January 2023,2nd February 2023 and Grand Final on 4th Day
Benidrom Fest is a great platform for the talent of singers, composers, and producers from the Spanish country. In 2023, there will be songs sent by new talents unknown to the general public and emerging artists, as well as an increase in nominations by artists of recognized prestige and trajectory singers from talent shows.
Also very remarkable is the presence of young people of groups and soloists like indie scene artists, groups that were successful in the 90s and 2000s, and even some candidate who wants to repeat his experience last year in Benidorm.
There are also proposals behind the artists who have very large communities on TikTok.
Speaking of ages, there are candidates for all targets; the youngest will turn 16 in 2023 and the oldest act will be 76.
Benidorm Fest 2023 will have a wide range of genres from commercial pop, ballads, flamenco, fusion, rock and fashionable Latin sounds, rap, and reggaeton.

After the open process for receiving candidacies and contact with major record companies, renowned labels, independent record companies, and representation agencies come the process of documenting and listening to all of them, which a transversal team of RTVE professionals will carry out. , and, later, a selection of the 16 best proposals to participate in the Benidorm Fest 2023.
Once this difficult screening has been carried out, RTVE will communicate with the chosen artists. They, throughout November, will have to send the master of the song to begin the production process of the different galas that La 1 will broadcast.
8 songs will compete in the first Semifinal on January 31, and the other 8 will compete in the second Semifinal.
The top 4 from each semi-final will advance to the Grand Final on Saturday. Finally, eight songs will fight to win the second edition of the contest .
The winner of Benidorm Fest 2023 will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Chanel represented Spain at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song ”SloMo”.
She came in 3rd place in the Grand Final with 459 points.
