Sweden continues the journey to Eurovision 2023 with the Third heat of Melodiffestivalen 2023 broadcast tonight live from the Sparbanken Lidköping Arena in Lidköping

On a fantastic show full with self Swedish humor, our hosts Farah Abadi and Jesper Rönndahl invited on stage one by one the next seven acts battling for a Two spots in the grand final. Performing by this running order were:
- Paul Ray – Royals
- Casanovas – Så Kommer Känslorna Tillbaka
- Melanie Wehbe – For The Show
- Nordman – Släpp Alla Sorger
- Laurell – Sober
- Ida-Lova – Låt Hela Stan Se På
- Marcus & Martinus – Air

Round 1
After the first count of votes, Marcus & Martinus was announced as the first act confirmed for a spot in the grand final.

Round 2
Moving on to reveal how the public have voted for the remaining Six entries. At the end of the second voting round we can now reveal that Paul Ray gets the second ticket to the grand final.

Both Marcus & Martinus and Paul Ray will join these 4 act already confirmed a spot in the final:
- Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Arc North feat. Adam Woods – Where You Are (Sávečan)
- Tone Sekelius – Rhythm Of My Show
- Maria Sur – Never Give Up
- Panetoz – On My Way

Besides the finalists, spots 3 and 4, will battle again in the semi-finals where more tickets for the grand finale are up for grabs. This means that joining moving on to the semi finals are Melanie Wehbe and Nordman. Waiting for the SF round are as well heat 1 and 2 qualifiers:

Next week the Forth and last group of Seven acts will continue the battle for two golden tickets for the grand final in Friends Arena. Performing next week are

Melodifestivalen 2023 Calendar

“Melodifestivalen 2023” grand final will take place on Saturday 11th of March 2023 at Stockholm’s Friends Arena. This will also be the date where the date when the Swedish artist and song for Liverpool will be known to all.
Sweden will compete in the second half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2023.
Last year it was Cornelia Jakobs who sang the powerful pop ballad “Hold Me Closer” for Sweden and pierced the scoreboard with 438 points to take her higher up to grand final 4th place.
