Austria Confirms Eurovision 2024 Participation With Plans to Select Internally

According to the German Eurovision website ESC Kompakt, Austria will participate at Eurovision 2024 in Sweden.

Austrian broadcaster ORF will select the song and the artist for Eurovision 2024 internally.
The country has internally selected for Eurovision every year since 2017.

Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz, ORF program director gave a statement to the Austrian newspaper kleinezeitung. She confirmed the national broadcaster will select internally.

In the spring of 2024 we already have a big talent show in the ORF 1 program with ‘The Great Chance – Let’s Sing and dance’. Another competition in the form of a public preliminary decision for the ESC is therefore not an option for the ORF

The exact format of the internal selection is yet to be determined.
Last year, the process involved representatives of the ORF management, expert jury and Eurovision fans.
In addition, ORF might requite the help of talent scouting, Eberhard Forcher (as since 2017).

By this, Austria joins the list of countries that have already confirmed their participation in Eurovision 2024: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Israel, Cyprus, Germany, France, Spain, and more.

Teya and Salena represented Austria at Eurovision 2023 with “Who The Hell is Edgar?“.
They ended in 15th place in the final, with a total of 120 points:

What do you think about Austria’s choice to continue with internal selection?
Will the country find an artist and a song that will lead to success?
