Croatia Confirms Eurovision 2024 With “Dora 2024” as Selection Process

Croatian broadcaster HRT confirmed Eurovision 2024 participation through the jutarnji daily newspaper.

As since 2019 (and mainly in the past), Croatia will choose an artist and a song via the “Dora” music festival.

“Dora 2024” – Known Details

  1. Submissions will open tomorrow, the 15th of September 2023 and will close on the 30th of November 2023.
  2. This time, HRT emphasized musical variety as a keynote for the selection process. HRT seeks out songs from a wide range of genres: pop, rock, trap, hip hop, rap, ballad, electro and more.
  3. The list of shortlisted artists will be published towards the end of December 2023 or in the beginning of January 2024.
  4. Dora 2024” will be held during February 2024 in the city of Opetija.
  5. As of last year, HRT will present all the contestant’s songs through its television, radio broadcasts and social networks already in January. 
  6. Up to 28 songs (+ 4 reserve songs) will be chosen by the proessional jury
  7. Performers must hold Croatian citizenship.
  8. Songs can be performed in each European language.

Let 3 represented Croatia at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Mama ŠČ!“.
Despite being well accepted by the public (7th place), they ended in the 13th place (combined with the jury vote) with a total of 123 points:

So far, the following countries have confirmed participation in Eurovision 2024: Sweden, Norway, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Israel, Moldova, Estonia, Austria, Cyprus, Denmark, Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Serbia, Switzerland, the UK, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Portugal, San Marino, Belgium, Albania, Latvia and Croatia.

Eurovision 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11h of May 2024
