Iceland: “Söngvakeppnin 2024” Running Order and Details Have Been Unveiled

The Icelandic broadcaster RÚV will hold the the final of “Söngvakeppnin 2024“ on upcoming Saturday, 2nd of March 2024.
The trio Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson and Unnsteinn will host the show.

5 artists qualified for the final. They will perform in the following running order:

  1. VÆB – Bíómynd
  2. Hera Björk Scared of Heights
  3. Anita –  Downfall
  4. Bashar Murad – Wild West
  5. Sigga Ózk – Into the Atmosphere

As the list suggests, 4 of the songs will be performed in English. However VÆB brothers chose to stick to the Icelandic version of their song (even though they prepared an English one as well).

The results will be determined in 2rounds:

  1. Round 1 – The results will be based on a 50% jury vote (combination of national and international jury) and a 50% public vote. Based on a proportional system, the top 2 acts will make it to the super-final.
  2. Round 2 – On top of the cumulated points, the public will be able to vote again for one of the 2 acts. The artists achieving the highest sum amount of points, will win the selection.

2 special guests will perform in the final:

  1. Selma – The singer represented Iceland at Eurovision 1999+2005
  2. Dilja – The singer represented Iceland at Eurovision 2023

Who will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2024?
Eurovision 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11th of May 2024.
