“The Looker 2024”: Eurovision Wish List – Chapter 5 (Finland, Norway, Sweden)

Welcome to our series of posts – “The Looker” where we will share our wish list of artists to participate in Eurovision.
You can easily reach all former posts here


This is the 4th year in a row that we are running the project.
But before we start, let us remark that our recommendations will not necessarily come true (as for example some countries select their artists by reality shows).

#1. Mirella

Mirella Virallinen is a 19 year-old Finnish pop singer.
In 2023, she released her first single.
In 2024, the Finnish radio Ylex, awarded her the Breakthrough of the year.
Mirella represents the freshest Finnish pop: She is a charismatic singer, singing smooth and convincing pop melodies. Therefore, she might be the perfect choice for Finland at Eurovision


In 2023, she released the song “Sua sattuu” (Eng: It hurts you):

In 2024, she released the song “Timanttei” (Eng: Diamond Tea):

In 2024, she collaborated with Lauro Haav on the song “Luotathan” (Eng: Trust Me):

#2. Battle Beast

Battle Beast is a Finnish heavy-power metal band that was formed in 2008.
The current line-up of the band is:

  • Juuso Soinio – rhythm guitar (2008–present)
  • Pyry Vikki – drums (2008–present)
  • Eero Sipilä – bass, backing vocals (2008–present)
  • Janne Björkroth – keyboards, backing vocals (2008–present)
  • Noora Louhimo – lead vocals (2012–present)
  • Joona Björkroth – lead guitar, backing vocals (2015–Present)

So far, the band has released 6 studio-albums, all of them made it into the top 7 of the Finnish charts.
Battle Beast represents powerful metal music, with international appeal.
They tour the world and grab the fans’ attention.
With amazing live performances, it is time for the Battle Beast to represent Finland in Eurovision.

#1. Highasakite

Highasakite is a Norwegian indie pop-rock duo that was formed in 2010.
The members of the duo are: Ingrid Helene Håvik and Trond Bersu.
So far, the band has released 5 studio albums and 4 EPs.
Their latest EP includes a list of covers.
The band have won 3 music awards during their career.
Highasakite suggests a very distinctive sound that would grab a lot of attention in Eurovision.
It is time for Norway to take a different direction.

#2. Jesper Jenset

Jesper Jenset is a 26 year-old Norwegian singer-songwriter.
He rose to prominence in 2014, after finishing in 5th place in the Norwegian pop idol.
So far, the singer has released 3 EPs.
During his career, he has also contributed as a writer to other artists, including Alan Walker.
Jesper Jenset is a versatile artist, who sings both emotional ballads as well as uptempo pop hits.
Having him for Eurovision can be an unexpected surprise that might take Norway to the wishful balance of getting the support of both the jury and the public.

In 2023, he releaed the song “Ung, dum og lovende” (Eng: Young, Stupid and Promising):

#1. Jubël

Jubël is a Swedish electro-pop duo that was formed in 2017.
The duo is composed of Sebastian Atas and Victor Sjöström.
Previously, each one of them has worked separately.
So far, they have released an album and 2 EPs.
Jubël suggest a delicate line of electro-pop which is accessible and yet original.
It sounds like they have the ability to generate the required appeal in Eurovision

#2. Daniela Rathana

Daniela Rathana (real name: Daniela Sörensen) is a 27-year old Swedish pop singer.
She has started her career as a backup singer for Sabina Ddumba, Kent, Zara Larsson and Seinabo Sey.
In 2020, she has released her dut EP.
In 2021, she has released her debut album.
Daniela brings a fusion of sassy pop and semi-melancholic pop.
She usually performs in Swedish, which makes her music more exciting.
Might this be an interesting change of direction for Sweden at Eurovision?
