Cyprus has confirmed its intention to take part in Eurovision 2025.
Based on EurovisionFun‘s report, we learn more about the country’s plans for Eurovision 2025.
First of all, it seems that once again, Cyprus will select its artist and song for Eurovision internally.
Some artists have already expressed their willingness to represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2025.
Currently, there is a mixture of seasoned and newbie artists in the blend of rumors.
The selection process, led by the national broadcaster RIK (also known as CyBC):
In the first phase, RIK will shortlist several artists.
In the second phase, RIK plans to get the help of a focus group with selecting the artist (and the song).
Based on the patterns from previous years, Cyprus is expected to select its Eurovision 2025 artist in the autumn.
This year, it seem that RIK will try to prioritize an artist who is based in Cyprus (in contrast to previous years).
Silia Kapsis represented Cyprus at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Liar”.
She finished in 15th place with 78 points
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Switzerland.
