Iceland: “Söngvakeppnin 2025” Songs Will Be Released On January 17

Icelandic broadcaster RUV will select a song for Eurovision 2025 via the national selection “Söngvakeppnin 2025“.

Based on RUV‘s schedule, the line-up for “Söngvakeppnin 2025” will be known on Saturday, the 17th of January 2025, as part of the program “Lögin í Söngvakeppninni 2025”.
The songs will be released on the same day on digital platforms.
It is also possible that “Söngvakeppnin” will undergo some format changes

The full format is still unknown, however it seems that 10 artists will be shortlisted to compete in the national selection.

Hera Björk represented Iceland at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Scared of Heights”.
She finished in 15th (and last) place in semi-final 1

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
